A water-based acrylic of Spanish production from Green Stuff World, intended for figures, gaming models and accessories. It thins with water and takes further coats without lifting the one underneath, as long as you let it dry properly. The name refers to a gray of a technical, machine character.
Gray areas are the most demanding thing in painting, because the eye sees every jump in tone on them at once. Never do a cloak, a shield or the side of a hull with two shades right next to each other, then. The proven method has three steps. First mix three or four intermediate steps, not just a dark and a light one. Then thin each step so that it is noticeably thinner than the paint from the bottle, and apply it in overlapping areas that get smaller with every coat toward the light. Finally go over the boundaries with a brush damped with clean water before the edge dries, as the water blends the transition and the hard line disappears. With an acrylic, which dries quickly, do the area in smaller sections and do not try to keep a whole cloak wet at once. A drying retarder makes this work easier, but it is not necessary if you work quickly and in thin coats.
