Scaled-down countersunk screws with a star recess, one millimeter in diameter, a round value in the middle of the coarser part of the range.
Responsibility details are not available.
The only value in the whole graded range that comes out as a round number, and therefore the easiest to reckon with. Worked out to 1:12 scale it matches a real screw of roughly 12 mm in thickness, that is an element that on a motorcycle holds truly substantial parts.
The classic place for countersunk star-recess screws on real machines is the brake discs: six of them around the carrier, the head sunk into the surface so that the pad does not catch on it. The same type is also found at the attachment of the front fender to the fork tubes or at the cover of the oil pan.
The difference from 0.9 mm or from 1.1 mm is not great when you look at a single joint, but on an assembly of several parts side by side it already decides. Modelers therefore often keep three neighboring sizes at home and take them according to what they see in a photograph of the real subject. This middle size tends to be the most used of the three, because it fits most of the visible assemblies of a medium-sized machine and is still fitted without trouble.
