About product

IC-2 / IG-2 early ejection seat 1:48 — Reskit

This detail set offers an accurate replica of the IC-2 / IG-2 ejection seat in its early form, as carried by the older machines of the A-7 Corsair II family (both the E and the D version). It is a resin (3D-printed) accessory that replaces the simplified seat of the plastic model and gives the cockpit realistic straps, handles and fine mechanism. It is not an aircraft kit but a refining part.

The real subject

The early IC-2 / IG-2 seat matches A-7 machines from the earlier part of their service. A faithful seat is one of the most conspicuous details of an open cockpit.

Usage tips

Wash any uncured print resin off the parts, cut away the print supports and sand the surface with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Paint the seat before assembly; the straps come out after a wash is applied.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of A-7 Corsair II models in the early form, 1:48 scale
  • Modelers after a faithful cockpit
  • More experienced modelers working with resin

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
