A hexagon head in the semi light version, size 0.5 mm

A small imitation of fasteners for models. The head has the shape of a hexagon, that is of the classic external hex for a key, and it carries the designation semi light in the 0.5 mm size. The line offers three versions of the hexagon head side by side, the basic one, semi light and light, and this one stands in the middle.

Field of use

An external hexagon is the most usual shape of head there is, so it suits practically anywhere: on the frame, on the engine unit, on the mounting of the tank and on machines and machinery in a diorama. The 0.5 mm size is among the finest, so it aims at places where the screws stand in a dense row or where a larger head would look coarse. The hexagonal outline, moreover, comes into its own in painting: the edges catch a dry brush and the head sets itself apart from the surrounding surface.

Installation tips

• Pick the elements up with fine-jawed tweezers and fit them one at a time over a pad with a raised rim.
• Turn the heads so that the edges of the hexagon look irregular, as after real tightening with a key.
• Fit them after the seams have been sanded and the base coat sprayed, otherwise the fine shape will disappear under the paint.
• Check the material of the elements and a suitable glue in the manufacturer's instructions and apply it with the tip of a needle.

Who it is for

For the modeler who is replacing suggested screw heads with a full-fledged shape. This is an accessory for a kit, not a kit in itself. A model, paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
