A low-profile joint 0.8 mm in size. It does away with drilling and fitting replacements made one piece at a time.
Responsibility details are not available.
0.8 millimeters is the step builders reach for most often, and in the lowered version it has the added advantage of suiting surfaces as well, where a taller head would be a nuisance. Preparing several dozen such pieces by hand takes more time than the whole build of the running gear, and that goes even for an experienced modeler with good tools.
The brand offers several versions under different item designations. Put simply, a taller head belongs on load-bearing joints under stress, a lowered one on covers and surfaces where a joint is not to stand out. The hardest thing in the whole preparation is nothing that is done with the hands, but exactly this decision. It pays off to go through photographs of the real machine before the build and note down where which type suits.
First mark all the places with a needle, then drill them all at once and only at the end do the fitting. Switching tools costs time and above all it breaks the concentration that is the most valuable raw material in this work. Always guide the drill bit into the solid body of the part, not close to an edge, where it could tear the wall through.
Keep the contents you have not used; on the next model the same size will almost certainly come in useful again.
Anyone building several machines of the same marque will appreciate that the sizes can be carried over between projects, and a system chosen once then holds for the further builds in the same display case too.
