Boomerang Organizer (AMMO of Mig Jimenez)

This is not a model, but an aid for the modeling bench. The Boomerang is a small curved working organizer that stands right beside a model under construction and takes exactly the bottles and tools you are working with at that moment. It is not meant to replace a large rack for a whole collection of paints, but to keep order in the active zone of the bench, where most of the mess otherwise builds up and where a bottle gets knocked over most often. It is supplied as a laser-cut wooden kit that only needs simple gluing — the glue is not included in the package.

What it holds

• Holes 3, 4, 7, 10 and 17 mm in diameter, two of each — for brushes, tweezers, a scalpel and needles
• Two holes with multiple diameters of 26 and 36 mm — for acrylics, enamels, glues and decal solutions
• One deeper seat with diameters of 36 and 46 mm — for enamel jars, larger 100 ml bottles or a plastic cup
• Overall dimensions roughly 9 x 18 x 3 cm (depth, width, height)

How to use it

The curved shape is designed so that the organizer wraps around the working area and everything is within reach without stretching a hand over the model. Thanks to its small dimensions and low weight it is easy to carry between working places or to a modeling meeting. When gluing the kit, keep the walls square and let the joints cure properly, and only then load the organizer with bottles. It pays to go over the wood with a clear varnish, as drops of paint and thinner are then easier to wipe off it.
