A brass tube with an outside diameter of 9 mm, a wall thickness of 0.45 mm and a length of 305 mm. Material for building your own parts, stiffeners and replacements for plastic components.
Responsibility details are not available.
A brass tube is among the basic materials for building your own parts and for repairing kits. It suits barrels, exhausts, masts, railing posts, hydraulic rams, axles and pins, or use as a hidden stiffener where a plastic part would not take the load. Metal holds its shape, it does not twist and it will take even the small stresses that would damage plastic.
The outside diameter is 9 mm, the wall thickness 0.45 mm and the length 305 mm. The bore of the tube therefore works out at 8.1 mm, because the wall takes from the outside diameter on both sides. That is the decisive figure at the moment when you push a thinner tube, a wire or an axle into it. The package contains one piece and the material, according to the name, is brass.
Cut the tube with a fine-toothed saw or a tube cutter and turn it slowly as you cut, so that the wall is not crushed. Then chamfer the burr inside and out with a round file or with a drill slightly larger than the bore. For joining it to other metal parts soldering suits; for a joint with plastic use super glue or two-part epoxy, as polystyrene cement will not hold on brass. Before painting, wash the surface, degrease it and apply a primer, otherwise the coat will easily rub off the smooth metal.
The package contains one tube of the stated size. Paints, glue, solder and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
