About product

A cork sheet with a fine grain, 200 x 300 x 3 mm

A modeling material, not a finished accessory. A pressed cork sheet measuring 200 x 300 mm and 3 mm thick with a fine grain structure. The fine grain suits places where the surface should look smooth or where the scale is small — walls, paving, slightly undulating terrain, a base under a road. Cork is easily cut with a knife, it breaks into irregular edges and it can be sanded, so a naturally looking rock or ruin arises from it quickly without the need to cast plaster.

Use

  • The base of terrain and the basic shape of hills, embankments and roads
  • Rocks, cliffs and stone walls created by breaking the edges
  • Walls, ruins and damaged masonry in a diorama
  • A leveling and sound-deadening base under a model railroad track

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas, vignettes and model railroads in any scale. The sheet is cut with a sharp knife and glued with PVA glue or with cyanoacrylate glue, and before painting it is worth strengthening the surface with thinned PVA glue or with a base coat — otherwise cork absorbs a great deal of acrylic paint.

The material is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package. Use a cutting mat when cutting and pay attention to safety.

FAQ

It serves as a light base for terrain and, once broken up, also as a very convincing rock or damaged masonry. It is light, it needs no casting of plaster and the work goes quickly.

The fine grain has a smaller structure and suits smoother surfaces and smaller scales. The coarse grain gives a more pronounced stone texture.

It is glued with PVA glue or with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting it is advisable to strengthen the surface with thinned PVA glue or with a base coat, otherwise it absorbs the paint strongly.

No. It is the cork sheet alone, and the other material has to be obtained separately.
