About product

The color

Cream white is white pulled toward a warm, yellowish tone. On a model it suits everywhere pure white would be too hard: cockpit and cargo bay interiors, the light surfaces of civil equipment, the walls and ceilings of diorama buildings and older machines whose white finish has already yellowed with age. The number RAL 9001 names the shade according to an industrial standard, so it can be compared against documentation for the subject or against a paint from another maker.

How to apply the paint

Light shades with a high proportion of white pigment cover more slowly than dark ones, so count on several thin coats with a short pause between them. A white or light gray base works well under cream; over a dark coat the warm tone shifts toward dirty. Wash and degrease the surface first, because paint does not hold on greasy plastic and will come away with the masking tape. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use and thin it with the thinner intended for this range of paints. The thinning ratio and the airbrush pressure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Painting tips

A warm white has an advantage in small scale: it looks more natural than pure white, because it imitates how a color appears at a distance and under a layer of dust. It takes toning well; just add a little shade to the last coats and the surface stops looking flat. As a base under white lettering, on the other hand, it is less suitable; it will not stand in for white there.

Who it is for

For modelers who paint with an airbrush and a brush alike and are looking for a warm white shade with a documented standard designation. The bottle holds 17 ml of paint; thinner and other accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
