A grass mat from the German maker HEKI from the decovlies line of a size of twenty-eight by fourteen centimeters. The fibers are applied to a practically invisible carrier mesh and the mat is torn into irregular pieces whose edge is lost in a landscape. The mountain meadow variant is keyed the way grass looks at higher altitudes: lighter, lit through and uneven, because in the mountains growth is slower and one tuft beside another tends to have a different shade.
On a new base apply glue from a spray can and press the mat down; on an already grassed area the fibers hold even without glue. In mountain landscape it proves useful to work with the terrain: leave the mat sparser on the ridges and denser in the gullies, because it is precisely there that moisture holds. Leave the rock bare in places and let the grass run up to it in irregular tongues, not in a straight line.
For builders of mountain layouts and dioramas and for modelers who want to set high mountain landscape apart from a lowland meadow. The lighter key goes well with gray rock and with dark conifers alike. This is a modeling material, not a toy. The maker marks its landscaping goods as not suitable for children under fifteen years of age.
