An asphalt road is often the backbone of a whole scene on a layout: it leads from the station to the village, passes the factory and decides where traffic runs in the model world. This set adds four separate sections to it in H0 scale, that is in the most widespread size of layouts.
The package holds four asphalt road sections. You will use them where a road in H0 scale is already taking shape, or as the basis of a new stretch. The exact purpose of the individual sections and the recommended arrangement are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Level the surface, dry it and remove the dust; unevenness under a section will be pressed into the surface and can no longer be put right. First lay the sections out dry, think through their order and the join to the surrounding areas, and only then fix them in place according to the manufacturer's instructions. Shape and length can be adjusted with a sharp knife against a steel ruler; make the cut in two passes, so that the edge stays clean. Work the joints between the sections so that they look like a working joint in a roadway and not like a gap.
New asphalt usually looks too uniform on a model. Lighter wheel tracks, a darker strip down the middle, dusty road shoulders and a few patches will turn the set into a road that has been driven on for years. Cover the transition to the terrain with a fine loose material or with grass growth.
The package holds the road sections. A surface, the paints, the vehicles and the other accessories of scenery are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
