A resin figure of a Ukrainian soldier from the period of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine in the years 2014 to 2015, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation ATO, that is the Anti-Terrorist Operation, was used for the activity of Ukrainian forces in the east of the country from 2014. The first years of the conflict are marked by mismatched kit: a combination of uniforms of older patterns with newer plate carriers, helmets of various origins and accessories that the soldiers obtained for themselves. It is exactly this variety that makes figures from this period a rewarding subject, because they allow every part of the kit to be treated differently in color and in material.
The package contains a figure of a Ukrainian soldier in 1:35 scale cast in resin. The casting is unpainted and before building it is necessary to remove the casting blocks and clean up the parting seams.
It is advisable to wash the castings first in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent come off the surface, or the paint will hold badly. The casting blocks are separated with a saw or a cut of a scalpel, not by snapping them off, and the remainder is leveled with a file. Sanding resin is best done with a respirator and preferably wet. The parts are joined with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Before painting, a base coat in a thin continuous layer works well, on which acrylic and oil paints then hold.
The figure suits dioramas with modern equipment and serves as an accessory to models of armored vehicles in 1:35 scale. The package contains only the resin casting. The model of the vehicle, paints, glue and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
