A tapestry on a wall immediately gives away that an interior belongs not to barracks but to a manor house, a chateau or a state room that a staff has taken over for itself. It is exactly the contrast of an opulent background and military business that tends to be the strongest moment of a whole interior diorama.
The motif is printed on real cloth, and that on both sides. Textile behaves differently from paper: it drapes, holds a fold, and can be left slightly waved at the lower edge or peeled away from the wall. Printing on both sides means that a turned-back corner will not reveal a white reverse, which paper imitations can never manage.
Cut with sharp scissors or a scalpel and treat the edge with a drop of thinned white glue against fraying. Fix the tapestry to the wall at the top edge and let the lower part drape freely, or fix the shape by saturating it with thinned glue. In a damaged scene add a torn corner, dust or traces of soot, but with restraint, so that the motif stays legible.
