The eight-wheeled BTR-80 armored personnel carrier left base looking different from how it looked in the factory. Sandbags were added to the nose and sides of the hull as improvised protection, the crew's personal belongings to the free surfaces, and a spare wheel with them. A model in this form tells more about deployment than the best-sprayed armor.
The package brings three groups of accessories together: fifteen sandbags, the personal equipment of a BTR-80 crew and a spare wheel. It is therefore a complete load for one vehicle, without your having to track the individual sets down separately. The bags have sagging and folds of their own, and the modeled cloth of the equipment has the sagging of a filled bag.
The accessories are added only onto a finished hull:
Sacking, the canvas of the bags and the rubber of the wheel each have a different shade and a different sheen, and it is exactly that which shows in the result. A darker glaze in the gaps, a dry brush along the edges of the folds and dust settled according to the terrain will tie the load and the vehicle into one whole.
The set is aimed at builders of the BTR-80 in 1:35 scale who want to equip a vehicle in one go and not have to combine several separate sets. A model, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
