An injection-molded plastic kit of the road and racing motorcycle Yamaha FZR750R (OW01) in 1:12 scale from the Tamiya motorcycle series. The fairing is divided into parts as on the real machine; clear plastic and vinyl tubing to imitate the wiring add to the realism of the model.
The FZR750R, with the factory designation OW01, was a homologation superbike that Yamaha introduced at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s as the production basis for Superbike racing. It was powered by a liquid-cooled inline four with DOHC and five valves per cylinder, titanium connecting rods and a tuned exhaust. It used an aluminum Deltabox frame and race-tuned suspension. Only a limited number were built, which makes it a machine prized by collectors.
The frame and the engine form the basis of the model - pay attention to assembling them and to distinguishing the metal parts in color. Chrome and aluminum surfaces come into their own with metallic paints; seal the painted fairing with a gloss clear coat and add the sponsor decals. Route the vinyl tubing as the instructions describe for a faithful run of the wiring. Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
