An injection-molded plastic kit of the American two-seat carrier fighter F-14 Tomcat in 1:144 scale. Despite its small dimensions the model offers finely engraved panel lines, a detailed landing gear, external stores and movable variable-geometry wings. Decals for finishing are included in the package, and thanks to the low part count it is a rewarding build.
The F-14 Tomcat was an American twin-engine carrier fighter with characteristic variable-geometry wings, which for many years formed the backbone of the fighter cover of aircraft carriers. It combined long range, a powerful radar and long-range guided missiles, which made it one of the best known fighters of the Cold War.
Assemble the variable-geometry wing mechanism according to the instructions so that it stays movable, and avoid letting glue run into the joints. Spray the gray shades with an airbrush, pick out the panel lines with a wash and settle the decals onto gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
