An injection-molded plastic model of the British light tracked carrier Universal Carrier Mk.II in the large 1:16 scale from the Gecko Models brand. The large scale allows rich detail on a fairly small vehicle. The box holds photo-etched metal, decals, a well worked hull interior and workable tracks. Weapons in scale are included as well - a Bren machine gun, two Enfield rifles and a Sten submachine gun. Figures and an engine are not part of the package.
The Universal Carrier, also known as the Bren Gun Carrier, was a British light tracked carrier of the Second World War. It served to carry men, machine gun teams and ammunition, and as a tractor and a reconnaissance vehicle. The Mk.II version was one of the most widespread; tens of thousands of vehicles of this family were built and a number of Allied armies used them. Its small size and versatility made it one of the most common armored vehicles of its day.
An open hull means the interior is visible - paint it carefully before finishing. Glue the plastic parts with modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched items with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After a coat of primer and airbrushed paint in British khaki, bring both the interior and the running gear to life with a wash and pigments for mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
