Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Ford Mustang Mach 1 in 1:25 scale from Revell, in the form from the film series about agent 007. This is a Gift Set edition, and with those the basic equipment for building and painting tends to be packed in alongside the kit itself, but the exact contents differ from set to set and are not stated here. The 1:25 scale is the standard for American car tooling, which is why it differs from the European cars of the same film series in 1:24. It is an injection-molded plastic kit for gluing.
The Mach 1 was the sporting top of the Mustang range at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. A body with a fastback tail, a pronounced hood treatment and large-displacement V8 engines made it a typical representative of the American muscle car era just before the choice of big engines began to narrow. Its film role in a story set in Las Vegas brought it a second layer of fame, and the night chase through the streets is among the most quoted car scenes of the whole series.
The long hood and the fastback tail form large smooth surfaces on which every trace of sanding will show, so it pays to prepare the body over a primer and to spray in thin coats. The contrast between the gloss paint of the body and the matte or dark hood treatment is typical; do that with masking only once the base color has cured. The engine bay tends to be well worked out in American tooling and deserves time of its own. Fit the chrome around the bumpers and the windows at the end, and the glazing right at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
