An FPU-12/A external fuel tank of 480 gallons in 1:32 scale, one piece. For Super Hornet models and for the EA-18G Growler.
Responsibility details are not available.
The tank of 480 gallons, that is roughly 1820 liters, is the largest of the external tanks used on aircraft of the Super Hornet family. It is hung on the underwing as well as the centerline pylons and extends the range so much that the aircraft routinely appears with it on transits and on long patrols. The designation FPU-12/A belongs to one of the versions of this tank. On a model it is a conspicuous part, the one a viewer focuses on right after the fuselage.
The package holds one tank in 1:32 scale as a replacement for the kit part. The range of parts and any extras are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down with fine abrasive paper; on a long rounded body run the paper along the axis, otherwise flat spots will be left on the surface. Before painting, wash the tank in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry. Glue it to the pylon with cyanoacrylate glue and check before it sets that it hangs parallel to the axis of the fuselage. Apply the paint in thin layers over a primer.
The set is for modelers of large aircraft scales who are not happy with the shape of the tank from the box or who want a uniform level of detail across the model. Even a beginner can handle it.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
