A set of Eduard photo-etched metal parts in 1:32 scale for Revell kits of the Gloster Meteor F.8. The kit is not part of the delivery.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Gloster Meteor was the first jet fighter to reach squadron service with the Royal Air Force. The F.8 version of the late 1940s was its most numerous form: it was given a lengthened nose, a new vertical tail and an ejection seat. It carried its pair of jet engines built directly into the wings, and its gun armament consisted of four 20 mm cannons in the nose. With the Royal Air Force it served as the main day fighter of the first half of the 1950s.
These are photo-etched metal parts in 1:32 scale intended for Revell kits. The parts are etched from thin sheet and are held on a fret from which they are separated. They replace or supplement the plastic parts of the kit where a smaller material thickness and finer detail are needed. The extent of the set and the placement of the individual parts are given in the instructions enclosed.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface; do not break them off with a twisting movement. Make the bends along the marked line, ideally in a bending tool or between two metal rulers. Degrease the metal before bonding; super glue and two-part epoxy both hold on it. Apply a primer intended for metal before painting, otherwise the finish will rub off. Count on having to sand away the plastic parts the photo-etched parts replace, and do that before you glue the fuselage together.
The set is for modelers who have already worked with photo-etched parts and want to take detail in a large scale further than injection-molded plastic allows. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
