This resin and photo-etched add-on set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves to replace the engines of the plastic kit of the twin-engine Mosquito in the large 1:32 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft, but a detail set meant for experienced modelers. It offers faithfully cast powerplants with fine texture, cowling panels and photo-etched elements that lift the detail of the finished model.
The de Havilland Mosquito FB Mk. VI was the fighter-bomber version of the famous British wooden multi-role aircraft of the Second World War. It was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 liquid-cooled engines, which gave the machine high speed and range. Open engine nacelles with the powerplants exposed are among the most striking details that can be presented on a model.
First wash the parts to remove mold release residue, carefully cut the casting blocks off with a saw and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before filling and painting; bring out the shades of the metals and the accessories with washes and a dry brush, so that the texture of the castings shows.
The add-on set does not contain the model of the aircraft itself. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
