A printed AN/ALQ-184 electronic warfare pod in the longer form, for models in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AN/ALQ-184 is an American electronic warfare pod. It is carried under the wing or under the fuselage of a tactical aircraft on an ordinary station, and its task is to jam enemy radars, that is, to protect the machine carrying it. The pod was made in two lengths; this item corresponds to the longer form, as its name also states. On a model it is a conspicuous cylindrical assembly with prominent covers and cooling features, which can by itself place a build in a particular period of the aircraft's service.
A pod for models in 1:32 scale, produced by three-dimensional printing, as the name states. Printed parts tend to have a finely drawn surface and crisp edges, because they do not have to allow for the shape of a mold. The number of pieces in the package and whether a station is included are stated by the manufacturer.
With printed parts, first remove the print supports: nip them off a little from the part and sand the rest carefully with a fine abrasive, so that the surface is not damaged. Work in small steps; thin projections snap off more easily than on injection-molded plastic. The part is not polystyrene, so cement for polystyrene will not hold on it; use cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting, wash and degrease the pod and apply a thin base coat; the shade itself and the emphasis on the seams between the covers belong on top of that.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
