Propellers, engine and front cowling for the P-47D Thunderbolt in 1:32 from the manufacturer Reskit. A 3D printed accessory set, not a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory set, not a model of an aircraft. It contains three propellers, from which the modeler chooses according to the subject being built, a radial engine and the front cowling of the power plant. The engine is exactly the most impoverished place in every kit of the Thunderbolt: in reality it is a twin-row eighteen-cylinder unit whose finned cylinders are clearly visible behind the intake opening of the cowling. An injection mold can only make a suggested relief of it. In the large 1:32 scale the difference between a suggested and a real engine is immediately apparent. The set covers the versions designated as blocks 11 to 30.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was an American single-seat fighter and at the same time one of the heaviest machines of its category. It was powered by an air-cooled twin-row eighteen-cylinder radial with a turbocharger placed at the rear of the fuselage, to which a long duct led. That very arrangement gave the Thunderbolt its stocky shape and at the same time excellent performance at high altitude.
The set is for modelers who are building a Thunderbolt in a large scale and want an engine worth looking at. The work calls for patience in removing the supports and for painting small parts before assembly.
It is not a model of an aircraft. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
