The Zrínyi was created during the Second World War as a Hungarian assault gun. It was based on the chassis of the Turán tank, a low fixed superstructure replaced the turret, and the main armament was a 105 millimeter howitzer. The mounting of the barrel was protected by a prominent rounded mantlet, which is among the most striking features of the vehicle's whole silhouette, and that is exactly why any inaccuracy shows there first.
The set brings one improved part, the gun mantlet, in 1:35 scale. It is a finished replacement part with sharper edges and a more readable surface than base kits offer, and it is fitted in place of the original kit part.
The material is not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement will not hold. Use super glue, or two-part epoxy. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and carefully sand off the rest, so that you do not disturb the shape of the mantlet. Before painting, wash the part in warm water with detergent and degrease it, otherwise the paint will not hold. Lay down a continuous primer and only then the top shade. The exact way to fit it is given in the manufacturer's instructions. On the finished vehicle it pays to bring out the outline of the mantlet with fine shading, so that the rounding stands out.
The set is intended for builders of Zrínyi models in 1:35 scale who want to replace the standard part with a more accurate one. It calls for cutting off or reworking the original kit part, so reckon with a little modeling work. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
