A detail cockpit set for the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in the bubbletop form, in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. The resin accessory replaces the basic cockpit interior from a plastic kit with a more faithful assembly: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles, a seat and the controls.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was an American fighter of the Second World War, one of the heaviest and most rugged single-engine fighters of its day, powered by a radial engine. The P-47D version with the bubble canopy brought a markedly better view out of the cockpit thanks to its cut-down rear fuselage.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. The interior comes into its own once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
