About product

Damaged roof section and tiles in 1:35 scale

A broken roof is one of the strongest signs of a ruined town: from it the viewer sees that something struck the house without having to see the whole building. The set contains a piece of damaged roof and twelve separate European pattern tiles, which can be scattered around as fallen roofing. It is an accessory for a diorama or a vignette, not a building kit.

What is in the box

According to the manufacturer's data the package contains one part of a damaged roof section and twelve European pattern roof tiles. A building, terrain, paints and glue are not included.

Use and tips

First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly so that the paint will hold on them. Prime them. A fired tile is not a single color: lay several shades from orange to brown over the basic brick tone and leave some tiles markedly darker. Suggest moss and deposits in the valleys with dark green pigments. Scatter the fallen tiles around irregularly, break some of them and add dust and small rubble among them, so that the transition between the roof and the ground looks natural.

Who the set is for

  • builders of urban dioramas in 1:35 scale
  • modelers who build ruins and destroyed buildings
  • makers of vignettes with a civilian setting
  • anyone interested in European subjects of the Second World War

The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

It is not. It is a stand-alone element for a diorama or a vignette.

Do not use a single shade. Lay several tones from orange to brown over a brick base and leave some tiles markedly darker.
