The Bronco 1:35 German 28cm schweres Wurfgerät 40 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy rocket launcher on the chassis of a captured French tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Bronco represents the German 28cm schweres Wurfgerät 40 heavy rocket launcher on the self-propelled chassis of the captured French Hotchkiss H39 tank, in 1:35 scale. The set offers a broken-up hull with an interior, running gear with springs and the frames of the rocket launchers; the exact contents of the box are given on the packaging.
After 1940 the German army made extensive use of captured French vehicles. The chassis of the Hotchkiss H39 light tank served as the basis for a number of conversions; one of them was fitting frames for launching heavy 28/32 cm rockets. The result was a simple self-propelled rocket launcher which, at short range, could send a devastating salvo of heavy rockets against area targets; rocket weapons of this kind were inaccurate, but the effect of the salvo had a great psychological as well as destructive impact. The leaf-spring bogies of the running gear, typical of the original French Hotchkiss tank design, are characteristic.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close it. Glue the launcher frames and the launch crates accurately so that they hold the correct angle. Seat the metal springs of the running gear carefully, if they are included. Unify the base with German dark yellow or gray, add camouflage, washes in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
