A machine gun barrel is a thin cylinder that an injection mold can hardly manage without a parting groove along its whole length and with no more than a suggested muzzle. On a finished model it is visible from a distance and it tends to be one of the first things that betray the degree of care taken. Replacing it takes a moment and moves the result noticeably forward.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was a twin-engine medium bomber with twin fins that became one of the most widespread American machines of its class. The B version went down in history in April 1942, when sixteen of these aircraft took off from the deck of the aircraft carrier Hornet for the raid on Tokyo under the command of James Doolittle. Compared with the first series it had its defensive armament arranged differently, with a gun turret on the back and a retractable turret in the lower part of the fuselage, while a tail gun position was still missing.
