Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set for a model of the German Tiger I heavy tank. The set covers the name Kurt Knispel, the turret number 101 and the battlefield given as Russia, that is, the Eastern Front. It is not a kit but an accessory: the decals are applied to a model that is already built and painted. The scale is 1:35 and the maker is WEIKERT DECALS.
The Tiger I, factory designation Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. E, was a heavy tank with an 8.8 cm gun, heavy vertical armor and a weight of over fifty tons. Turret numbers on German vehicles were not random – the first digit usually marked the company and the following ones the order of the vehicle within it, so even the number itself says something about where the machine was posted. Kurt Knispel was a German tank gunner and later a commander who served on the Eastern Front, and the modeling literature connects him with several particular vehicles. The brand also has the same subject with a different turret number as a separate item; with this one the number is 101.
The base under the decal has to be smooth and glossy, or silvering will show. Cut the design out close to the print, dip it in warm water for a few seconds and let it rest on paper until the film releases. Settle it with a soft brush, soak the water away and add a softener. Once it is completely dry, go over the whole model with matte clear and work the numbers into the weathering with a thin wash or dust pigment.
