A plastic kit of the American medium tank M4A3E8 Sherman Easy Eight in 1:35 scale from the Japanese company Asuka, formerly known under the brand Tasca. The Shermans from this brand are among the most technically accurate and detailed there are. The kit captures the late form of the Sherman with HVSS suspension with wide tracks and a 76 mm gun. The nickname Easy Eight comes from the phonetic reading of the E8 designation.
The Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War. The M4A3E8 version, nicknamed Easy Eight, was its advanced late form: it received a more powerful 76 mm gun, the new HVSS suspension with wide tracks (a steadier ride and lower ground pressure) and a cast turret. It served at the end of the Second World War and afterwards as well; it made a strong mark in the fighting of the Korean War, where the late Shermans went on carrying out combat tasks.
It is best to assemble and paint the running gear with the HVSS suspension and the tracks before you finish the hull, because otherwise it is hard to reach; the same goes for any turret interior before the turret is closed. The Asuka parts are very accurate, yet dry-fitting still pays off. Work with liquid cement for plastic and an airbrush; olive drab is typical. Bring out the details with a wash and treat the running gear and the lower areas with pigments and mud or dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
