An injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy 155 mm M1A1 howitzer in 1:35 scale from Bronco. According to the manufacturer the box contains richly broken-up plastic, photo-etched parts, a selection of shells and decals, mostly for ammunition markings. The gun is designed so that it can be built in the firing as well as the travel configuration.
The 155 mm M1 howitzer, later the M1A1, was an American medium-caliber towed howitzer of the Second World War. It was usually towed by trucks and half-track carriers and served as the backbone of artillery fire support. Over 10000 were built and they stayed in the inventories of a number of countries long after the war, into the Korean War and later conflicts. The howitzer was later redesignated the M114.
Use thin cement for plastic and bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Leave some parts unglued according to the instructions, so that the howitzer can be traversed, its elevation changed and the recoil mechanism made to work; that keeps the movement. Build the carriage trails spread for firing or folded for travel. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; the olive green finish is brought to life by picking out the details with a wash and discreet dust on the lower part of the carriage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
