Plastic kit of the Italian cruiser Fiume in 1:350 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the finished hull measures around fifty centimeters.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fiume was an Italian heavy cruiser of the Zara class, which entered service at the beginning of the 1930s. The ships of this class were among the best armored cruisers of their day and carried a main battery of 203 millimeter guns in four twin turrets, two forward and two aft. Their balanced silhouette with a single block of superstructure and two funnels is striking. Fiume ended in March 1941 in the Mediterranean night action off Cape Matapan, where British battleships caught her together with her sister ships.
This is a plastic kit to be glued and painted. In 1:350 scale the model comes out about half a meter long, so there is room for the small deck fittings while it still fits into an ordinary display case. The range of parts, the configuration of the hull and the choice of markings are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Work from the bottom up: first finish and paint the decks, and only then fit the superstructures, the boats and the armament, otherwise you will not reach the lower surfaces with a brush. Clean the excess material and the manufacturing marks off the parts and use the cement for plastic models sparingly, so that it does not run onto the surrounding surface. Leave the turrets rotating only if you do not glue them fast with paint. The wooden decks stand out when you accentuate them lightly with drybrushing after the base coat.
Paints, thinner, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
