MASTER 1:350 USS Alaska/Guam is a set of turned metal barrels for refining the artillery armament on a model of the American large cruisers of the Alaska class.

A set of precisely turned metal barrels from the manufacturer MASTER in 1:350 scale. It is not a ship model but an accessory replacing the plastic barrels with fine metal parts. The package holds barrels of two calibers: 12-inch (9 pieces) for the main turrets and 5-inch (12 pieces) for the dual-purpose battery.
USS Alaska and USS Guam were American large cruisers of the Alaska class deployed at the end of the Second World War. They carried a main armament of 12-inch caliber in three gun turrets and a supplementary dual-purpose battery of 5-inch caliber. They served above all as protection for the fast carrier task forces.
The metal barrels are fitted in place of the plastic parts of the kit. Cleaning up of the mating surfaces, gluing with cyanoacrylate glue and degreasing before painting are recommended. Metal bores look more faithful than plastic ones and they do not warp.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
