Flyhawk 1:350 - a photo-etched set of windows and ports for Japanese warships is a photo-etched brass detail set that replaces coarsely molded features of the superstructure with thin, faithful parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched (PE) brass detail set, not a model of a ship. The set is meant for improving plastic models of Japanese warships of the Second World War in 1:350 scale and replaces the thick, indistinctly molded frames of the windows and ports of the superstructure, the bridge and the deck shelters with fine metal parts.
The thin photo-etched features give the superstructure the fineness of the scale, which injection-molded plastic cannot capture. Once glued on and painted, the windows and ports look realistic and lift the level of the finished model markedly, especially on the large areas of the bridge.
Separate the parts from the fret carefully with a sharp knife or etch shears on a hard mat, and make any bends in an etch bender. For attaching them to plastic, thin cyanoacrylate (super glue) or UV glue is the most suitable. Before painting, lay a primer on the degreased metal, or the pigment will hold badly.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a model. A matching base kit is needed for the build; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
