An injection-molded plastic kit of the German torpedo boat V 106 of the First World War period in 1:400 scale from the Polish brand Mirage Hobby. The model has a full hull and comes with a base for display; the package contains plastic parts and decals. The small scale makes it a rewarding collector's piece for a display cabinet.
German torpedo boats (Torpedoboote) were fast, lightly armed vessels intended for torpedo attacks, escort and patrol duty. The types of the First World War period carried torpedo tubes and gun armament of a smaller caliber and were deployed in the North Sea and the Baltic. The V 106 belongs to this generation of light combat vessels of the Imperial German Navy.
At a small scale, take care to glue the hull and the superstructures cleanly; cut off the small parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin cement. Build the model with its full hull on the base, or set it into a water surface on a diorama. Spray the base coat with an airbrush and bring out the deck and the details with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
