A resin casting can capture shapes and fine details that injection-molded plastic cannot manage in this scale, above all internal fittings that stay partly visible once the model is finished. The Douglas A-26 Invader was a twin-engine bomber and attack aircraft whose defensive armament was handled by remotely controlled turrets. The crew station in the rear of the fuselage is therefore a rewarding but often overlooked place on a model. Production kits usually treat it in a simplified way or not at all, because in 1:48 scale it is a space that can only partly be seen into. That is exactly where an accessory of this kind makes sense: a modeler who leaves the view open gains a convincing-looking interior instead of an empty cavity.
Wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent first, so that remains of the mold release agent do not stop the paint from adhering. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never with nippers. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. They are glued exclusively with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for polystyrene does not hold here. A dry test-fit is absolutely essential: a resin insert almost always calls for sanding the inside of the fuselage halves so that they will close. Paint the parts one by one before gluing them in, because after that a brush will not reach into the space. Pick the details out with dry-brushing and a fine wash.
