Masking landing gear bay plugs from the Czech manufacturer Omask, shaped for the AV-8B Harrier II kit in 1:48 scale from UMa. It is not a model and not a kit but an accessory for painting. The plugs are cut from flexible EVA foam and are simply pressed into the open landing gear bays. The foam adapts to the shape of the bay, does not stick and damages neither the plastic nor the interior detail. After the outer surfaces have been sprayed you simply take them out and the bay stays clean, with no paint run in, no clogged edges and no laborious taping of a deep, intricate space.

Use

• Press the plug into the landing gear bay so that it is flush with the surrounding surface of the model; it needs neither glue nor tape.
• Check the edges: the foam should fill the whole bay, otherwise paint can run in through a gap.
• Spray in the usual way, with a primer, a covering color, camouflage and a clear coat.
• Once the paint is dry, pull the plug out carefully; the bay keeps its original color and detail.
• The plugs are not single-use, and with careful handling they can be used again.

Who the plugs are for

For modelers who build the AV-8B Harrier II in 1:48 scale from UMa and want to save themselves the most tedious part of masking. They are of the greatest benefit when working with an airbrush, where atomized paint gets even into places a brush would never reach. They are easy to use and a beginner will manage them too.

This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. The plugs are shaped for the kit of the stated manufacturer and may not fit a kit from another brand.
