The styrene strip 0.75 x 4.00 x 350 mm from AK interactive is a package of ten firm polystyrene strips for supports, platforms and load-bearing elements of your own parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ten pieces of plastic strip of rectangular section 0.75 x 4.00 mm and 350 mm long. The material is polystyrene, the plastic known from injection-molded kits — it is cut with a knife, glued with cement for models, sanded, filled and painted. It is not a model but a material for building your own parts and superstructures.
The combination of four millimeters of width with a stiff thickness makes this size a material for elements that have to carry something. A wide gluing face at the same time means a firm joint, so the strip suits places where two larger parts have to be joined reliably.
A thicker and wider strip is cut in several passes: score it about halfway and break the rest over the edge of a surface. Then level the cut on abrasive paper, as on a wide strip an end that is not square shows most. It is glued with a thin cement for polystyrene, which runs into the joint and melts the plastic; with a large gluing face apply it in portions, so that the cement does not run away outside the joint. For joints with resin, photo-etched metal or wire use cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting, sand the surface and cover it with a base coat.
It is a material for building, not a finished model. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
