An injection-molded plastic kit of the British multi-seat light bomber Bristol Blenheim Mk.1 in 1:48 scale from Airfix. It is a modern, richly detailed tooling with fine relief, a glazed nose and a detailed interior. The package contains plastic parts, extensive glazing, decals and instructions.
The Bristol Blenheim was a British twin-engined light bomber which in the second half of the 1930s meant a great leap forward — it was markedly faster than the biplane bombers it replaced. The Mk.1 version with the glazed nose carried a multi-man crew (pilot, navigator/bomb aimer and radio operator-gunner). At the beginning of the Second World War it was one of the mainstays of British bomber aviation, although it was already growing obsolete fast.
Because of the extensive glazing of the nose and the cockpit, give the interior time — once the fuselage is closed, nothing will be seen of it. Protect the clear parts with masks so that the frames stay crisp. Glue the joints with thin cement for plastic and build the model over a primer. The two-color British camouflage of the upper surfaces and the light underside come out well with an airbrush; a fine wash will bring out the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
