A set of color three-dimensional decals for the cockpit of the two-seat Boulton Paul Defiant F1 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is intended for the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The Defiant was a British two-seat fighter whose armament was carried in a powered dorsal turret with four machine guns. The pilot had no barrels aimed fixed forward; the fire was directed by the gunner behind his back. The daylight combats of 1940 tested this concept hard, and the Defiants then served mainly at night. For a model the cockpit is a rewarding place: it has two separate stations and between them it can be seen well inside.

What the set contains

Color interior elements with a raised relief, that is the instrument panels, the side panels and the other inner surfaces. The dials and the lettering are done in color, so you do not have to paint them by hand. The exact extent of the sheet is given by the maker in the instructions.

Application tips

• The way they are applied differs from one range to another, so follow the instructions from the maker Kelik.
• Varnish the surface under the element first and let it dry thoroughly; the base should be smooth and degreased.
• Pick the elements up with tweezers, seat them dry and press them down with a soft tool so that they settle in the corners as well.
• Complete the cockpit and try it dry before you glue the fuselage together for good.

For a modeler who wants the cockpit of the Defiant finished quickly and without painting the dials. This is an accessory to a kit, not the kit itself.
