A set of replacement wheels for a model of the German Do 335 Pfeil aircraft in 1:48 scale. The tires are flattened where they meet the ground, which imitates the load on a parked machine.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil was a German heavy fighter from the end of the Second World War with an unusual powerplant arrangement: one engine pulled at the front, the other drove a pusher propeller at the rear behind the tail surfaces. Thanks to that the aircraft had the power of a twin-engine machine without the drag of engine nacelles on the wing. It stood on a nose landing gear, which was not common among combat aircraft of the time, and on the ground it looked very substantial.
The set brings replacement wheels for a model in 1:48 scale. The tires are made with flattening where they touch the ground, so once fitted the model does not stand on a perfectly round outline but really looks loaded. The relief of the tread and the sidewall tends to be more pronounced on separate wheels than on the parts from the kit. Check the number of pieces and the kit the set is cut for in the material from the manufacturer.
The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material and production marks away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder; on wheels take care not to cut into the outline of the tire. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. When gluing, turn the flattening down toward the surface, otherwise the whole point of weighted wheels disappears, and check it before the glue dries.
The model, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
