The set brings precisely cast resin landing gear wheels for models of the American Republic F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber in the A, B, C and D versions in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane but a resin detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the kit with a part that has a sharp tire tread and fine detail on the hubs. Paints, glue and the model of the aircraft are not included.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was a single-seat supersonic fighter-bomber of the US Air Force, a heavy and fast machine deployed in large numbers over Vietnam. It carried a large bomb load and was renowned for its toughness. The sturdy landing gear with its massive wheels is a conspicuous feature that a resin replacement brings out.
Wash the resin parts clean of mold release agent, carefully cut off the casting block and sand the mating surface down while protecting your airways. Glue the wheels with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires matte rubber black and the hubs in the shade of the scheme concerned; the join between hub and tire can be masked off cleanly.
It is a detail accessory, not a model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
