This set from the Ukrainian brand Reskit is a 3D-printed resin replacement cockpit for models of the supersonic General Dynamics F-111A/E strike aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an extensive detail accessory that replaces the pilot's compartment of the Hobby Boss kit. Included are 3D decals for a faithful rendering of the instrument panels and control surfaces.
3D printing allows exceptionally fine detail on the seats, the side consoles and the instrument panel that injection-molded plastic cannot capture. Color 3D decals give the gauges and panels a realistic look without laborious hand painting. The set is designed as a direct replacement of the pilot's compartment for F-111A/E models of the matching version.
Carefully lift the parts off the print supports and sand them with respiratory protection, then wash the surfaces. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A primer is recommended; airbrush the seats and consoles and apply the 3D decals onto a smooth surface, protected with a clear coat if needed. Check the fit dry before closing the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
