The set replaces the landing gear wheels on a model of the Douglas B-66 Destroyer in 1:72 scale. On a finished model the wheels are always in view, because the machine stands on them and everyone who looks at the model from the side looks at them. Replacement wheels tend to be more cleanly shaped and hold a circular outline better than the parts from a kit.
The B-66 Destroyer was an American twin-engine jet bomber that came about by adapting a carrier machine for the needs of the land-based air force. Besides the bomber version it was used for reconnaissance and for electronic warfare, so you will meet it in several markedly different forms. It was a fairly heavy aircraft and the landing gear matches that.
The contents are a set of wheels for one model. The number of parts and the material are given on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions. Please check the compatibility with a particular kit against the manufacturer's data.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a short way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so as not to damage the outline of the hub. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts, as ordinary cement for polystyrene need not hold. Fit the wheels only once the paint on the gear legs has dried, otherwise you will press marks into the finish.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
