An injection-molded plastic model of the American two-seat aircraft F-4G Phantom II Wild Weasel in 1:48 scale from the production of the Meng brand. It is a recent tooling with rich surface detail and a well worked cockpit. The box contains plastic parts, photo-etched parts, self-adhesive masks, a metal pitot tube and a rich choice of external stores and jamming pods; several finishes are available.
The F-4G Phantom II Wild Weasel was a specialized version of the famous fighter intended for the suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD). Its task was to find, locate and destroy enemy radars and missile systems. Special electronics for detecting and locating radar emissions served for this, together with anti-radiation missiles, which home directly on the transmitting radar. The aircraft was powered by a pair of turbojet engines and carried a crew of two — a pilot and a weapon systems officer.
Glue the plastic parts with a liquid modeling cement for plastic. Glue the photo-etched parts and the metal pitot tube with cyanoacrylate glue, and mask the glazing with the masks enclosed. Apply a base coat (a primer) before painting and spray with an airbrush; the gray schemes of Phantoms will appreciate fine shading of the panels, emphasis of the lines with a wash and discreet wear. Paint the stores and the armament separately and fit them according to the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
