This is an add-on set of landing gear wheels, not an aircraft model. The set from Reskit contains resin, or possibly 3D-printed, late type wheels for the British Hawker Hurricane fighter in 1:48 scale. The wheels are rendered as weighted (with realistic flattening where they meet the ground) so that the model looks convincing standing on the ground. They serve as a replacement for the plastic parts of the base kit.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter, one of the key fighters of the Battle of Britain. Its robust structure with fabric covering over the rear fuselage and a wide landing gear track made it reliable and easy to repair. The late variants differed in the detail of the wheels and tires, which is what this set captures.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways while sanding. The tread and the hubs come out once the tire is painted in a dark shade and the rim set apart, with light highlighting of dust and weathering.
An add-on set. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
