Reskit 1:48 MJ-1 Jammer driver and airmen (Gulf War), scene 1: a 3D-printed trio of American weapons loaders with the driver of an MJ-1 truck in desert gear from the Gulf War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure set of three, created by 3D printing, brings the atmosphere of Operation Desert Storm to the ramp. The driver at the steering wheel of a munitions truck and a pair of assisting loaders match the gear of American personnel of the early 1990s and are designed for the MJ-1B and MJ-1B/C versions. The designation scene 1 refers to the first of two compositions the manufacturer prepared for this period.
During the Gulf War in 1991, coalition aircraft flew from desert bases in an unbroken rhythm and the ground personnel kept up the pace only thanks to mechanization: MJ-1 lift trucks handed bombs and guided missiles up under the wings of machines from the F-16 to the A-10. Dust, heat and a high tempo gave the equipment and the people of that time an unmistakable look, which the set faithfully carries over into scale.
The desert era matches light khaki coveralls and grayish tones on the protective vests; dark goggles and gloves supply the contrast. A sandy deposit on boots and knees is created with thinned pigments. Matching the shades of the figures to the weathering of the aircraft produces a compact, believable scene.
