The set contains two resin (3D-printed) replicas of the AERO 1D external fuel tank of 300 gallon capacity in the form used by the US Navy and the Marine Corps, 1:48 scale. This variant is without the stabilizing tail fin, while the fin parts are enclosed so that the build can go either way. It is an aftermarket accessory from Reskit.
AERO 1D tanks of 300 gallon capacity were carried by a wide range of American carrier aircraft and extended their range considerably. Depending on the aircraft and the mission they were used with the tail fin and without it.
Wash the parts free of print resin residue, separate them from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Decide on the version with or without the tail fin according to the aircraft you are building. Fill the seams, sand them with respiratory protection, apply primer and finish with an airbrush.
