The Aber photo-etched set 1:48 for the SU-122 — vol. 2, the fenders, is an additional brass set with faithful fenders for a model of the Soviet self-propelled gun. This is an accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An additional photo-etched set from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:48 scale focused on the fenders of a model of the Soviet SU-122 self-propelled gun. Thin brass fenders look more realistic than thicker plastic parts and make it possible to suggest bending and battle damage as well. The set follows on from the basic set of the line and serves as an accessory for a build; it is not a model.
The SU-122 was based on the chassis of the T-34 tank and carried a 122 mm howitzer. Its sheet-metal fenders were often deformed in the field, so faithfully executed fenders markedly raise the authenticity of a model.
Separate the fenders carefully from the fret, shape them on a photo-etch bending tool and, if you wish, gently suggest a bow. They are bonded with super glue or epoxy, and the brass should be treated with a primer before painting. It suits more experienced modelers.
This is an accessory, not the model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
