A plastic kit of the Bf 109K-4 fighter in 1:72 scale from Eduard in the ProfiPack boxing, that is with photo-etched parts, masks and decals for several machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109K-4 was the last series-produced version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter and it reached the combat units only in the final months of the Second World War. It was powered by the liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 605, an inverted V12. The armament consisted of a 30mm engine cannon firing through the propeller hub and a pair of 13mm machine guns mounted above the engine, whose breeches forced the conspicuous bulges on the cowling.
ProfiPack is the Eduard name for the full version of a kit. Besides the plastic parts, the box holds a set of photo-etched parts, masking film for the glazing and decals for several color schemes, so you can choose which machine you build. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The photo-etched parts are glued with super glue, bent over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, and degreased before gluing. It pays to start with the cockpit, because once the fuselage is closed you can no longer reach it. Stick the masks onto the glazing before spraying and remove them only once the paint has dried, otherwise the edges will fray. Apply the decals over a gloss base and settle them with a decal softener so that they sit down into the engraving.
The small scale and the etched parts move the build rather toward more experienced modelers, although a patient beginner will manage it too. Paints, glue and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
